PLOT

During a party night in Amity Island a young woman went swimming in the sea and went disappeared the young woman’s body was found on a shore next morning. Chief Brody  believes that it was a shark attack and wanted to close the beach to investigate.

RISING ACTION

The rising action of the film is when a lady, Mrs. Kintner placed a fortune of $3000 and offered whoevers capture the shark. Chief Brody then held a meeting and a shark hunter named Quint offered himself $10000 to capture and kill the shark himself.

CLIMAX

The climax of the film is when Cheif Brody and Hooper decided to hire shark hunter Quint. Hooper and Quint dislike each other but they got along when they went hunting for the Shark.

FALLING ACTION

The falling action of the film is when the shark hunter Quint was eaten by the Great White Shark.

RESOLUTION

The resolution of the film is to have the Shark killed.

TENSION IN THE PLOT

In a movie, a tension is added to a plot to build up suspense and most of the time it happens during the climax of the film. The tension of Jaws was most notable when the climax began which Cheif Brody, Hooper and Quint went to hunt for the shark. Steven Spielberg have link the first and second attack so close together, then keep it away from us to create a suspense. Steven Spielberg also link the sound effects and theme song to a shark attack, which really help to create suspense.

HOW GENRE CREATES TENSION IN THE PLOT

Jaws is a thriller movie. A thriller is a movie genre that uses suspense and tension as its main elements. By telling the genre of the movie, Steven Spielberg have hint the audiences that there will be an interesting plot with great suspense and tension in the movie. In this case, the audiences should have an idea that something huge will happen to Chief Brody, Hooper, Quint and the Shark.

RECOMMENDATION OF JAWS BY POINT OF VIEW OF THE TENSION AND WHETHER OR NOT IT SUITED JAWS

The tension in the plot of Jaws was very effective that I was so desperate for more during the movie. It was mostly the suspense in the movie that highlighted the movie and forever picture it in the audience memory. With tension in the plot so exciting and effective, the tension suites a thriller movie like Jaws, the reason being exciting and effective tension are what requires in a superb thriller movie.
